6th Annual Meeting & Conference
Kea, Cyclades, Greece

International Light group concludes eye-opening conference

Light and color – from where they pulse within the human spirit to the latest in advances for their therapeutic uses – radiated through the Sixth Annual International Light Association (ILA) Conference, held recently on the Greek Cyclades island of Kea.
Jacob Libeman
From the start of the keynote address, entitled “Light, Vision and Consciousness, Unraveling the Mystery” by Jacob Liberman, O.D., Ph.D., D.Sc.,
the six-day conference launched nearly fifty attendees on a fast-paced journey of discovery    In his search to understand how light affects the eyes, Liberman said he came to realize “the need to see the hig
her dimension of light, the light within us.”

Liberman, an optometrist, inventor, author and widely respected speaker, added, “I started out looking at how we are treating people with light for vision enhancement, but ultimately, the journey is finding the compass within us …

‘Light entering the eye activates the body to keep us in a state of oneness with the universe… (it) is guiding us.”

From the metaphysical, conference speakers moved on to explore the latest in scientific advances, the best in current therapeutic uses of light and color and other facets of how light affects life. For instance, one lecturer, Lyn Doole, a Samasatti light therapist in Willunga, South Australia, spoke about  cultures and their languages’ use of color terms and  light metaphor.

The holistic scope of the conference presentations was in keeping with ILA’s mission “to share and disseminate information, educate, initiate and promote research, and create an open-hearted, broad-minded and integrative community in the field of light.”
